The mattress also has limited edge support, meaning you may experience a roll-off feel if you sleep on the edge of your bed.

How long to leave a rolled mattress
Once you’ve unpacked your mattress, carefully remove the plastic wrapping.
Some bed in a box mattresses come with a cutter, but if not you may have to use scissors.

However, you should first check with the manufacturer that it is safe to deflate the mattress.
Otherwise, you may damage the mattress and lose your guarantee. 😨
To compress your mattress you will need a mattress bag, a vacuum bag or valve, some duct tape and a vacuum cleaner.
Now follow these steps to deflate your rolled mattress:
- Undress your mattress and pop it into the mattress bag.
- Remove the valve from the vacuum bag and place it on the mattress bag.
- Draw a line around, cut it to size and stick the valve on securely.
- Pop the nozzle of your vacuum cleaner into the valve, switch it on and begin the compression.
- Once you have sucked all the air out of the mattress, roll the mattress up like a cinnamon swirl and use lots of duct tape to fasten it together.
- Done!
Pop the rolled mattress into an extra bag to further protect it and prevent it from unravelling/decompressing during transport. -

How do I unbox a rolled mattress?
It's easy to unpack a bed-in-a-box.
To unbox your rolled mattress just follow the following steps...
1. Unpack it from the box
Just like any cardboard packaging, open it up and you'll find your rolled mattress inside.
Most cardboard packaging is fully recyclable and can be cut down to fit in the recycling box.
Some trial periods may ask you to keep the box, so we advise checking the terms on the manufacturer website before discarding it.
2. Cut the first layer of plastic
Most rolled mattresses are kept tightly packed with a layer of plastic.
You can remove this by using the cutting tool provided or a sharp pair of scissors.
Be careful not to cut too deep or you may damage the mattress.
3. Unwrap the mattress and cut the second layer of plastic
Once the first layer of plastic has been removed, your mattress will start unravelling.
You may need to help fully unwrap it and position it on your bed.
Now you can cut the second layer of plastic and watch as your mattress expands.
4. Remove plastic and wait the recommended time frame
Once the plastic packaging has been cut, you should remove and dispose of it.
Make sure your mattress has a clear space to fully expand and wait the recommended time before dressing it.
Typically, it should expand within a couple of hours.
5. Sleep!
